Dear members of the Blitzkrieg Community

Good day. I'm inviting you to join the SouyzUnion forum, one of the most largest remaining communities of the game we all love, Blitzkrieg.

Many see it as a home of an "eastern", oversized mod, the GZM, with numerous copyright issues.
I would like you to know, however, that the gameplay has vastly been improved, the units rebuilt and perfected, and practically all of the copyright issues of GZM 5.55 have been fixed.

I will not obscure the fact that this mod is still improving and progressing towards heigths in gameplay and historical accuracy never before seen in Blitzkrieg. The European ground theater and units having been perfected, the mod is now focused on creating and expanding the existence of importaint, realistic maritime battles (up to and including light cruisers), reworking and refining the air combat system, and expanding to other theaters, primarily the Pacific (which is where my mapping career will be moving to soon).

But having been in the BK community for a while, I know for certain that this mod would not be where it is today without the contributions of not just countless members of the GZM team and the members of the SouyzUnion community, but also the crucial, breakthrough achievements of countless members of the worldwide Blitzkrieg community, many of whom are members of Blitzkrieg Portal and its descendants, members of the Chinese community, and many others who simply enjoy this great game. We are all grateful for the input and contributions of every one of these people, from the encouragement of the game and mod fans, to the lead mod developers, for the level of activity of the game's fan community that exists to this day.

And now, I feel it is crucial for members of this unique, worldwide community to unite their interests in this game to unite their efforts to improve what we already have and progress it further. This is not a dream or a myth; indeed, many games central and epic to their topic (ie: Warcraft, Civilization III) survive to this very day. It IS possible, Blitzkrieg IS an excellent, often unrivaled great base platform for such a community. And great possibilities for the game's development still exist, with respect to both the nature of the gameplay and battlefields, and to that of its scope- the Chinese Civil War, the Pacific and Asian theaters are still practically uncovered, to name a few. And believe me, GZM-7 already has all the best resources available to cover the objects and units needed for these regions. All that is needed is a larger community to reap the possible fruits of this great game, which still remains as unique today (particularly in historical terms) as it was when it was released; it has gone far beyond just being a good-looking platform.

This is by no means an sos message from the SouyzUnion community; I am simply inviting you to expand membership to this great, friendly community (bias from the personal friction of a few aside), and to continue its progression to newer levels. The forum is constantly being adapted to better suit English speakers (and already has a separate, medium-sized English forum). Everyone will greatly benefit, something I CAN promise.

Having worked on a number of major projects, I can tell you that it is not just the "makers" that count in the community; the players, testers, supporters, and critics are just as crucial. Also, do not let my invitation or your current thoughts be the judge as to whether take part or not. I think it is crucial you try out the mod on a significant level, or at least take a look at the latest works. If you enjoyed Blitzkrieg at some point, I very much doubt you'll regret trying this mod and/or taking part in this community.

SouyzUnion is also a home for other excellent, leading game modifications for games like Blitzkrieg 2 and Cuban Missile Crisis/The Day After.
Lastly, take my word for it, you will only gain from interacting and learning about other people in this world, people who make it a hobby to create things for the better of others, and people who share your interests. If you can, please extend this invitation to other members of the Blitzkrieg community, current and former. Works like GZM-7 have come a long way since most people have played BK.
